Menomonee Falls Dolphinettes
Over 40 Years of
Synchronized Swimming Excellence

Synchronized Swimming has been a part of Menomonee Falls since the early 1960's where it was a club activity at North High School. A club also formed at East High when that school opened.

The Dolphinettes became a competitive team in 1982.

In the early 1980's, synchronized swimming left the high school and became a part of the Menomonee Falls Recreation Department thus opening the program to younger swimmers as well.

One more transition occurred in 1999 when the club became an independent organization and an affiliate of the Menomonee Falls Recreation Department.

The club consists of approximately 40 swimmers ranging in age from 7 - 19 years of age. These girls train and compete approximately 11 months a year. The Menomonee Falls Dolphinettes (MFD) have been the Wisconsin State Champions for the past 22 years. The Dolphinettes have traveled to meets all over the country. Last year, we hosted two competitions, and still traveled to Denver, CO, Austin, TX, Des Moines, IA, Tonawanda, NY, & Dallas, TX.

This year we will be hosting the Wisconsin Invitation Meet. We will invite swimmers from all over the North Zone, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Colorado and South Dakota.

Last season, team had 22 swimmers travel to Denver, CO for the North Zone Championships in March. The 18-19 Team placed 4 th, the 16-17 Team placed 9 th. Our 13-15 Team placed 10 th in the 13-15 Invitational portion of the meet.

MFD had a duet qualify to attend the US Junior Championships in Austin, TX in March. Emily Emanuele and Kimmy Lurenz placed 26 th in this elite meet.

Last summer, the 18-19 team competed in the U.S. Open in Dallas, TX placing 4th in the team event. The meet was an international competition with teams from China, Canada, Domincan Republic, and our own USA National Senior & Junior Teams. The team did a combo routine in addition to their free routine and placed 9th. Placing 5 th was the trio of Emily Emanuele, Kimmy Lurenz & Leah Stapelman. Placing 11 th in that meet was the duet of Emily Emanuele & Kimmy Lurenz.

All of the MFD teams competed in the Region C Championships, a multi-state event held in Des Moines, IA. From this meet, 23 swimmers qualified for the National Age Group Competition in Tonawanda, NY. The 18-19 Team placed 10th in final competition.

This year we will travel to the U.S. Open in Honolulu, HI and also have Emanuele & Lurenz qualified for the US Juniors in Clermont, FL. We will travel to the North Zone Championships in Indianapolis, IN and the Age Group National Championship in Seattle, WA.

Synchronized Swimming is an individual, as well as a team sport. It requires the endurance of a long distance runner, the grace of an ice skater and the power of a gymnast, all performed in the unstable medium of water. While the girls have smiles on their faces, know that they are working very hard underwater.
